All information inside the Crypt is encrypted for security. Not just the passwords but all data. Make sure you have a strong "Master" password and your information will be secure.

All Data can be backed up to a zip file and stored in a safe place preferably on a different machine, a network drive or a USB removable device. (to even save offsite for more protection) This zip file is encrypted and all information inside it is encrypted. A restore of the data can be done anytime within Crypt Guardian but be cautioned that all current data will be overwritten.

In version 2 of Crypt Guardian we moved to the Ribbon interface that Microsoft first premiered in Office 2007. We have found it quite a bit more productive and easy to use once you have tried it. Check out the screenshot below:

The Idle Time Lock is a feature you can set to automatically minimize or lock Crypt Guardian to the systray. This makes it more secure in case you walk away from your computer and don't have any screensaver lock on. When right clicking the mouse on The Crypt icon in the systray then asks for the Master password to be reopened.

The Random Password Generator has many options for creating random strong passwords. Choose to add numbers and special characters to your passwords for higher security and even exclude certain characters that look alike for less confusion. When you add a password you can just generate and save...  Crypt Guardian 3 adds password strength templates and shows strength by color of the passwords you enter.

Crypt Guardian 2.5 includes 17 nice skins to personalize the look you want for the program. Crypt Guardian 3 will include 33 total skins and include some special Holiday skins like, Pumpkin, Valentine and XMas.

In Crypt Guardian contacts are a bit different then most business style contacts. The information you want to save is much more personal in nature. It includes most of the normal items like name, address, etc but adds things like Time Zone and will show the contacts time. Other exclusive information includes contacts native language and the language aptitude of your language for your international contacts.

This is for managing your Instant Messaging accounts not your contacts. You know you have many accounts and its hard to keep track of them all. Just save your information for Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk and more here in one safe place...

Money Transfer Accounts are accounts from sites like Western Union, Ikobo, Xoom, E-Passporte, and PayPal. Often times if you are buying things online especially internationally you need multiple accounts. You can save all these accounts and information safely in the Crypt.

Passwords are of course the core and most important feature of Crypt Guardian. There are many options for adding, editing, generating, and viewing passwords. Like all data in Crypt Guardian multiple views like "Grids" and  "Cards" are available. They can be shown "hidden" if in an environment where other people are around you and you need more privacy or just show passwords openly in a home environment. Many more options are available. Keep all your credit cards in Crypt Guardian. All your information is easy to find when ordering online or needing to call your card company. Other saved information includes card limit, check card?, secret number, and support phone number. Secret numbers can be hidden from grid and card view with a click of a button.

 Managing serial numbers in the Crypt is very convenient. Not only can you save the serial numbers or product keys, but select if it's a subscription style license and when that subscription ends. Don't forget to buy and register your programs.

Bank Accounts, especially checking accounts are nice to save in the Crypt. It's very useful to have account numbers but also check routing numbers saved for easy lookup. Account types can be savings, checking, or loans.

Many people now have multiple e-mail accounts they use for work, personal, etc. Some are web based and some "pop" based. They are easy to keep organized by putting them in the Crypt. On a web account you can even double-click a link to go to the web mail site.

If you own many domain names you purchased from Go Daddy, Hover, Yahoo, Network Solutions or others, you can manage them in Crypt Guardian. You can also keep track of renewals and DNS information for those domains.

Although passwords should normally not be printed and left around for prying eyes, it's often useful to print out a copy to put in a safe or safety deposit box in case of disaster. You can print and export data from the Crypt in many ways and that includes all types of information not just passwords. Export types are PDF, HTML, Excel,CSV, and more. You can also open an e-mail client directly from the Crypt to e-mail these file types.

 The instant backup function is used to do a quick set backup instead of getting a dialog to choose where to do the backup. In the Crypt Configuration Preferences you can save a location to save a backup of all the Crypt data and then save it from the main interface with a one button click.
